2009-2010 School Year
Please check dates and times for your specific category. If students are not registered during their specific category, they will have to register along with the general public during Open Registration.
Monday, January 26th through Thursday, January 29th – 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- IN-HOUSE STUDENTS – Students who are currently enrolled at St. Edward School.
- PRE-K SIBLINGS* – Students must be 4 years old before Sept. 30th of 2009.
Monday, February 2nd through Thursday, February 5th – 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- ST. EDWARD CHURCH PARISHIONERS – New students who are enrolling in grades Pre-K through 3rd grade where openings are available.
- KINDERGARTEN SIBLINGS* OF ST. EDWARD STUDENTS – New students who have not previously attended any school and will be 5 years old by September 30th of 2009. Enrollment is subject to availability.
*Siblings are children who have an older sibling that either:
- is currently enrolled at St. Edward School at the time of registration
- previously completed 3rd grade at St. Edward School
Monday, February 9th – 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- OPEN REGISTRATION – First come; first serve for any available openings in all grades
REGISTRATION FEE: $300.00 PER FAMILY
DIOCESAN FEE: $12.00 PER CHILD
Registration & Diocesan fee must be PAID IN FULL at time of registration.
Please make checks payable to St. Edward School. Post dated checks are not accepted.
Registration Fee is non-refundable.
Procedures for Registration
ALL CURRENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS (and their siblings eligible for Pre-K)
- Completed registration packet & payment may be sent back to school with students in original envelope or mailed to: St. Edward School, 175 Porter Street, New Iberia, La. 70560
- All tuition and fees must be PAID IN FULL through January before a student can be registered for the 2009-2010 school year.
- Completed packets must be received and dated in accord with the specific category, please note deadline!
ALL NEW STUDENTS (except for siblings eligible for Pre-K)
- Packets will be distributed at the time of registration and must be completed at school during the specific category, please note deadline!
- Parent/Guardian MUST make an on-site visit to St. Edward School to register students.
- St. Edward Church Parishioners must be listed on parish registry and approved by the pastor.
Requirements for Registration
In accord with the Louisiana Department of Education students entering Pre-K must be four-years-old and Kindergarten must be five-years-old by September 30th the year of enrollment. Please Note: Pre-K and Kindergarten students MUST be fully potty trained by the first day of school.
Copies of the following documents are required at the time of registration:
- Birth Certificate
- Baptismal Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Current Immunization Record signed by doctor or Health Unit
- Students in grades 1-3 must provide a copy of their most current report card
Required immunizations as mandated by the State of Louisiana for Pre-K and Kindergarten students beginning in 2009-2010 are:
- MMR – (2 doses)
- HBV – (3 doses)
- Varicella – (2 doses)
- DtaP & Polio – booster dose administered on or after 4th birthday and prior to school entry
Student Information
Medication: If your child needs medicine administered daily, an Administration of Medication Form must be filled out and signed by a physician. New paperwork must be submitted each school year. (Medical forms are available in the SES Office.)
Food Allergies: If your child is allergic to certain foods, you must submit a doctor’s excuse to the cafeteria manager if food substitution is necessary. New paperwork must be submitted each year. (Ex. juice for milk – no cheese – no eggs)
Pre-K/Kindergarten Sleep Mats: Mats cannot be thicker than 2 inches and MUST be covered. (King size pillow case works great). Sleeping bags are not considered mats.
Safe Environment Training: Any parent, step-parent, guardian or grandparent interested in volunteering at St. Edward School or attending/chaperoning field trips must attend a Safe Environment Training Session each year as mandated by the Bishop. Classes are offered at the beginning of each school year. If attending class somewhere other than SES; the name of the coordinator, place of training and date must be submitted so proper records can be attained.
